Experiential Learning - "Putting on Aging"

Presentation delivered by: Bob Bales, Training Manager for Atria Senior Living.

In this session, we will take you through our ‘Putting On Aging’ program that we use to impact our employees on the effects of aging. Experiential learning when a learner develops knowledge, skills, or values from direct learning through experiences or reflecting on experiences. We are all aging and we feel the changes almost daily and this session will take you from where you are today and understand what it feels to be aging as an octogenarian (person 80-89 years of age).

Bob has been in his current role of Training Manager with Atria Senior Living for just seven months. With nearly 13,000 employees in the US and Canada, he is responsible for new Department Director orientations, Leadership training, developing and managing employee training within the 180+ buildings.  Prior the position at Atria, he spent 10 years training victim service providers, advocates, law enforcement officials, and concerned citizens in nearly every statand in a variety of forums.

As a member of ATD, he has received a Master Trainer designation and a Synchronous Learning Designer certification.  He also holds positions as a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, an Honorary Corrections Ambassador for the KY Dept. of Corrections and a past member of Toastmasters International.
