A few questions to utilize with your teams and leadership, to facilitate discussion, as you navigate ways to move forward:

    • How do I adapt, in my current role, to work from home (WFH)?
    • How do I keep engaged?
    • How do I ensure my leaders have awareness of the value I bring to the organization?
    • Prior economic downturns have quickly laid off L&D as on of the first area to go; how are you mitigating that in the current downturn?
    • How are you creating opportunities to develop skills?
    • What actions are you taking to support remote leaders and to support your leaders remotely?  What looks different?

HUGE thanks to Stefanie Ashley, CPF, CVF, the Interim Director at the Facilitation Center at Eastern Kentucky University for the Round-table on The Impact of COVID-19 on Learning & Development!  We had wonderful engagement from our #ATDKY community and very helpful discussion.

Let's hear more from you on this topic!

    1. How have your business operations or services changed since March? Do you expect those changes to continue?
    2. How will these changes impact learning and development?
    3. What skills will you need to best support our new normal, as your organization's employees return to work?
    4. What are the biggest challenges learning and development will face over the next few months?
    5. What actions could be taken to address these challenges?
    6. What are the biggest challenges training and development will face longer term, over the next several years?

Google Meet is rolling out this week as free for everyone who has a Google account.  Zoom has been a go-to & is really easy to use for those unfamiliar.

Here are Resources for Virtual Training Design and Facilitation from ATDhttps://www.td.org/virtual-training.

I'm also posting resources, everything from Learning to Leadership to HR, on my LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/katieryanfotiadis).  Feel free to connect with me there & keep checking back. As I research relevant solutions & resources to help with a remote workforce, I'll continue to share (look at my posts for quite a few so far).  There's even a template for Remote work Guidelines that I'll attach here.  It may be helpful to you and your team. Feel free to alter for your organization’s needs.

Hope the LinkedIn posts are helpful and if there is something else you are looking for, let me know and I'll add it to my research list.

We rely heavily on CDC resources. They have been a great, credible foundation for our learning programs. We've made animated gifs and videos using Vyond, and they have been well recieved.

We're interested in Vyond - would love to hear more about that tool. How quickly can you create? Pros/cons?

Open Sesame is providing free eLearning courses through June 15th (I think that's the date). They have curated lists for COVID-specific training as well as topics such as working remotely and managing remote workers, managing through stress, etc.

We are looking at offering some of this content to our corporate office managers who are leading remote staff for the first time, and also some content for our senior living community managers who are managing their staff through very stressful circumstances. We've been working to gain buy-in on buying some off the shelf content for our managers specifically, and I think this will give us a great opportunity to do a pilot and help get some feedback that can help our case.

Many training leaders I'm talking with are thinking through reopen plans and what in-house TD looks like moving forward.

Can they take in the same number of people for orientation or is their space limited and they'll have to do more sessions to accommodate the same number of new hires?

Will their regular in-house training schedule be disrupted by more working from home, space limitations for social distancing within classrooms, etc.?

What future training can switch to online courses, live virtual or a blend?

What other questions are you hearing or considering?
